Job Summary

The selectee for this position will serve as an Interdisciplinary Physical Scientist or Oceanographer in the Full Spectrum GEO INT ( FSG) Branch of the GEO INT Analysis Division, Littoral & Riverine Department of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.

Major Duties

  • You will provide guidance to a multidisciplinary team of scientists, providing technical guidance to lower-grade oceanographers and physical scientists.
  • You will be responsible for scientific and technical evaluation, correlation, derivation, fusion and presentation of complex oceanographic data with a focus on image derived bathymetry.
  • You will provide instruction for new personnel on proper analysis techniques, data derivation, data fusion, and GIS product generation techniques using multiple data types
  • You will apply the principles and techniques of image processing, data processing and geographic information systems to analyze imagery or other information to create products and data.
  • You will apply the principles and techniques of oceanography, hydrography, geology, hydrology another physical sciences to product and data creation.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with remote sensing systems and/or in situ collection systems from ship-borne (i.e., Hydrographic data) and/or air-borne (i.e., LiDAR) activities. Pay Range

$76,721.00 - $99,741.00
