Job Summary

You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL CAMP/STATION COORDINATOR in the Environmental Affairs Branch, G-F Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER.

Major Duties

  • You will conduct annual compliance inspections and assist with headquarters sponsored Environmental Compliance Evaluations (ECE) in accordance with Japan Environmental Governing Standards (JEGS).
  • You will plan and administer the installation environmental compliance program.
  • You will utilize Environmental Management System (EMS) approach to ensure activity achieves and maintains compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and policies.
  • You will ensure all applicable units are notified of their annual assessments and their findings, and track all findings and resultant corrective actions till closure.
  • You will utilize SharePoint and various other multimedia programs to ensure the most accurate information is readily available to the Camp/Station Officer, Unit Commanding Officer, Marines, Tenant Organizations, and Civilians.
  • You will brief the Camp/Station Commanding Officer and unit Commanding Officer about the status of environmental compliance aboard the Camp/Station.
  • You will plan, administer, and report on environmental projects and field studies requiring a fresh approach to resolve new or complex problems.

Qualifications

Additional Requirements: In addition to the Basic Requirements listed in the Education section, your resume must also demonstrate one year of specialized experience, as follows: GS-11: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting inspections for compliance of environmental media (e.g., hazardous waste, drinking water, storm water, tanks, air, soil erosion, natural resources, cultural resources, solid waste, recycling, and training); AND maintaining multimedia program for environmental support services (e.g., SharePoint or other multimedia programs). NOTE: In lieu of specialized experience, applicants may qualify based on equivalent combination of education and experience for grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable. GS-12: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical expertise in environmental compliance to include: conducting annual compliance inspections (e.g. hazardous waste water, drinking water, storm water, tanks, air, soil erosion, natural resources, cultural resources, solid waste, recycling, and training); AND assisting with administering installation compliance program. Pay Range

$55,204.00 - $86,021.00
