Job Summary

You will serve as a Manager, (GS-14/15 equivalent), in the Sensing Sciences and Systems Division of NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION.

Major Duties

  • You will head the Sensing Sciences and Systems Division for program execution, personnel management, financial management, division operations, strategic thinking and development of a strategic vision.
  • You will manage division personnel's performance plans and recognitions .
  • You will develop written correspondence, plans, and briefs that inform, advise, and influence corporate decisions in sensing sciences, mine warfare S and T, and maritime special programs.
  • You will apply knowledge of contracting and procurement policies and procedures to support civilian and contract personnel.
  • You will coordinate, foster collaboration, and focus research and products across government laboratories, industry, and academia.
  • You will develop and deliver presentations, both orally and in writing, to personnel at all levels, both military and civilian, including successful communication of strategic vision to scientists, non-scientists, distinguished visitors and sponsors.

  • You will demonstrate a sound foundation of technical skills are applied across multiple phases of the development process and within multiple product lines and/or mission areas.
  • You will develop and implement a Division Strategy that is aligned to the Command's Strategic Campaign Plan.
  • You will apply knowledge of sensors in the use of mine countermeasures and Surveillance/Reconnaissance.
  • You will conduct basic and applied research related to: biotechnology/biochemistry, synthetic aperture sonar development, acoustic scattering/propagation, advanced numerical methods, magnetic and pressure sensor systems and electrical circuits.
  • You will conduct research related to: modeling and predicting physical phenomena involving acoustic, reverse engineering of acoustic,electromagnetic, infrared, optic, and ultraviolet sensor technologies in underwater and airborne environments .

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Engineer or Scientist leading the development, planning or execution of engineering projects or initiatives in sensing sciences, mine warfare Science and Technology (S&T) or maritime special programs. Pay Range

$91,231.00 - $164,858.00
