Job Summary

You will serve as a Branch Head in the COMBAT CONTROL & INTEROPERABLITY DIVISION; INTEGRATED COMBAT SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. Positions are available for the SITUATIONAL AWARENESS SYSTEMS BRANCH, INTEROPERABILITY ENGINEERING & TEST BRANCH, and INTEROPERABILITY & TRACK MANAGEMENT EVALUATION BRANCH.

Major Duties

  • You will supervise and direct the work of a staff of scientists, engineers, and technical support personnel performing combat systems analyses and integration activities.
  • You will lead, manage, identify and solve engineering and integration issues associated with US Navy surface combatants and combat systems using research and technology methodologies.
  • You will be responsible for Track Management, Navigation and/or Interoperability Software and/or System Engineering, Test and Evaluation and/or Independent Verification and Validation to support computer program development and deployment projects.
  • You will provide technical leadership and maintain accountability for the overall quality, timeliness, and fiscal aspects of branch products and services, as well as all commitments (planning/execution/tracking) made by the branch.
  • You will oversee the coordination and integration of the branch with the rest of the division, other technical organizations, and external sponsors.
  • You will resolve policy issues that may cross organizational boundaries, provides representation to and coordinates with customers and sponsors, and participates, as required, in various division, department, and corporate activities.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and direct multiple complex engineering and scientific projects in a team environment (including contractor coordination), effectively interacting with senior managers throughout DoD and private industry.
  • You will be is responsible for the full range of supervisory responsibilities including executing effective equal opportunity employment (EEO), hiring, performance development and evaluation and training.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer or scientist providing technical or administrative management of engineering projects or programs for an organization. Examples of qualifying experience may include, and are not limited to: 1) Analyzing and determining the technical scope of projects; 2) Developing and modifying execution plans for an engineering project or program to ensure quality, accuracy, and adequacy of products and services; or 3) Performing organization and administrative management of engineering projects by developing resources and capabilities, formulating budgets, and managing project funds and negotiations with sponsors. Pay Range

$102,663.00 - $170,800.00
