Job Summary
As the Natural Resource Program Manager, you will be delegated broad authority for making decisions, selecting methods, and executing the program of the project with the responsibility for the administration and management and overall operation for the Lake Sidney Lanier Project.
Major Duties
- Direct and coordinate an established preventive maintenance program for the servicing and periodic inspection of all facilities and equipment at the Project.
- Develop plans and programs for variety of resource activities including recreation, forestry, fish and wildlife, mosquito control, aquatic plant control, pollution control, fire control, interpretation, safety, commercial activities, etc.
- Schedule and direct periodic inspection, maintenance, repair, and major overhaul of all facilities.
- Responsible for natural resource management for the resource area
- Oversee the management and administration all hired labor and contract work are conducted, assuring strict compliance with the established safety rules and regulations
- Provide advice and technical guidance to the project office.
- Conduct public relations activities.
- Coordinate the financial requirements, method (contract or in house), and scope of work for the accomplishment of corrective measures.
- Prepare preliminary estimates of cost of labor, plant, and appurtenant equipment.
- Responsible for establishing procedures and policies for the collection, safeguarding, and transmittal of recreation user fees for the project office.
- Assure reasonable equity of individual employee performance objectives, standards and ratings among subordinate organizations.
- Recommend selections for subordinate supervisory positions.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Provide oversight for Recreation, Natural Resource, and a Shoreline Management, Program; 2) Provide Financial Management for a project to include coordination of finances; 3) Provide a full range of supervisory functions such as develop individual development plans (IDP), performance appraisals, interview candidates, assign work, etc.; 4) Proficient in the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); and 5) Provide Contract Management for a project to ensure contractor compliance for policy and regulation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Pay Range
$96,117.00 - $124,955.00
