Job Summary

Major Duties
- You will serve as Natural Resources Manager for a large geographical area; which includes complex and complicated natural resource and recreation programs.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a variety of complex and sometimes controversial natural resource management and protection programs that include fish and wildlife management, soil conservation.
- Forestry and vegetation management, fire protection, cultural resources protection, flood damage reduction and resolution of encroachments on public lands.
- Supervise implementation and coordination of approved mitigation plans and other authorized land management plans, operational controls, and procedures governing conservation and use of project resources;
- Coordinate and manage operation and management of recreation facilities, including campground, picnic areas, boat launching ramps, marinas, historical sites, overlooks, and visitor/information center(s).
- Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of the assignment and the capabilities and availability of the employee.

A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience:
One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: 1) Managing natural resources programs including work priorities and budget requirements; AND 2) Inspecting maintenance of recreation facilities such as campgrounds, picnic areas, or visitor centers. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Pay Range
$76,721.00 - $99,741.00
