Job Summary

You will serve as a NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the Environmental Planning and Conservation Product Line of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH Washington, DC.

Major Duties

  • You will Manage program relating to compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations.
  • You will Develop and review NEPA documents and project designs for compliance with regulations.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert on environmental laws and regulations pertinent to NEPA policies and requirements.
  • You will resolve technical problems related to planned projects with NEPA requirements.
  • You will support NEPA Program data calls from CNIC, NAVFAC and regulators.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying comprehensive academic, technical, or practical knowledge of natural resources management; 2) Using current knowledge of forestry, soil science, wildlife biology, and marine biology to anticipate ecological consequences of proposed actions; 3) Designing and executing plans that impact various habitats and ecosystems; 4) Advises interdisciplinary teams on matters related to natural resources and endangered species; and 5) Develops and presents technical information related to natural resources to various audiences. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The majority of the work is performed in a properly lighted office with modem HVAC controls. However, approximately 30% of the employee's total work time is spent on field visits with exposure to the full range of environmental conditions found in the greater Washington, DC. metropolitan area. Incumbent is exposed to poisonous plants and animals, allergens, temperature extremes, and the hazards associated with hunting and timber harvesting. Non-Critical Sensitive Secret access; Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. The position is eligible for Telework at management's discretion. The position requires less than 10% of time spent on travel. Position requires the incumbent to possess a valid state driver's license. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. Pay Range

$102,663.00 - $133,465.00
