Job Summary

You will serve as a Physicat Scientist in the NAV METEOROLOGY AND OCEANOGRAPHIC CMD.

Major Duties

  • You will work with NCC staff Oceanographer(s) and conduct liaison with the combatant commander (COCOM) staff to facilitate the development of requirements for Naval Oceanography products and services.
  • You will lead the development of Oceanographic, Hydrographic, and Bathymetric (OHB) requirements.
  • You will be the Naval Oceanography (NO) theater subject matt r expert and authority.
  • You will conduct liaison with staff personnel and international entities for the coordination of NO Security Assistance (SA) and Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) activities.
  • You will negotiate and implement government to government Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) with countries in the assigned region.
  • You will serve as COMNAVMETOCCOM's primary focal point for daily interaction with U.S. Embassies and Foreign Governments within the Region.
  • You will responsible for all coordination, planning, programming, and implementation of cooperative efforts with host governments.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing regional coordination for Oceanographic operations and engagements to staffs in the Area of Responsibility (AOR). Experience coordinating with Staff Oceanographer, collaborating with customers, staffs, and their representatives in the identification of new areas of environmental support and present Naval Oceanography capabilities. Experience negotiating and implementing government to government Memoranda of Agreements with countries in the assigned region. Experience assisting in the development of Oceanographic, Hydrographic and Bathymetric (OHB) products and services; experience assessing current and alternative environmental product and service needs. Experience understanding Department of State (Embassy), Naval Component Commander, regulations, and standard operating procedures. Pay Range

$91,231.00 - $118,603.00
