Job Summary
You will serve as an Interdisciplinary in the Survey Planning Division (N32), Operations Department (N3) of the Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
Major Duties
- You will review ship configurations and determine ways of improving onboard T-AGS systems, functions, and facilities to best serve the needs of various users.
- You will coordinate and track funding for all cruise cards ensuring all funds are transferred in timely manner.
- You will provide input concerning alteration and overhaul repair plans for scheduled periodic Voyage Repair Availability (VRA) and Regular Overhaul (ROH) including drydocking of ships.
- You will perform pre-departure inventory review to assure necessary spare parts, adequate expendable items, and special equipment are onboard.
- You will monitor daily message traffic from his/her ship and Detachment, attend operations meetings, briefings and reviews pertinent documentation.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience interpreting T-AGS ship configurations; 2) Experience with marine engineering principles, as well as cognizance of the American Bureau of Shipping, Coast Guard, and other regulatory agencies policies; 3) Experience coordinating Cruise Card requirements/funding and roll-on/roll-off equipment; 4) Experience reviewing ship overhaul contracts and bid specifications; 5) Experience developing work packages for installation and/or modification of the scientific survey suite and physical configuration of survey vessels. Pay Range
$88,704.00 - $115,313.00
