The primary purpose of this position is to Serves as the Knowledge Manager for the Occupational & Environmental Health (OE) Department, Technical Operations Branch, with principal responsibilities to write, review, develop and/or critique strategic, operational and tactical level objectives related to informatics and knowledge management.
Major Duties
- The incumbent will also review and assess the impact of proposed changes in databases used for health risk assessments and develop presentations to advocate proposals and battle rhythm to support their implementation.
- Evaluate broad data sets of comprehensive Occupational and Environmental Health (OEH) Risk Assessments to establish corporate business practices and eliminate uncertainty surrounding both environmental and occupational health exposures.
- Determine bio environmental engineering needs by analyzing gaps in available data, design reports and establish management tools appropriate to bridge those gaps to improve DoD leaders' ability to optimize Total Employee Health.
- Incumbent will review and provide input for Air Force Guidance from a bio environmental engineering perspective.
- Promotes a culture where intellectual Property (IP) is developed, documented, protected and encouraged.
- Inherent in the technical publication review process is a thorough screening for potential IP.
- Scientific/engineering knowledge will be utilized to effectively assist in IP transfer, transition or commercialization.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/1300/general-physical-science-series-1301/BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR-02/GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Materials Properties Technology, Oral Communication, Modeling and Simulation Skills, Technical Oversight, Technical Problem Solving, and Written Communication PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Pay Range
$104,202.00 - $147,257.00
