Job Summary
You will serve as the Senior Research Engineer/Scientist for Multi-Domain Maritime Communications in the Cyber / Science and Technology Department at the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific.
Major Duties
- You will lead broad theoretical and experimental programs of applied research and development necessary to advance Naval communications across all mediums of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model's physical layer.
- You will drive the discovery and invention of emerging technologies that address quality of service, capacity, performance, and security requirements for multi-domain maritime communications.
- You will interface with technologists and Fleet operators conducting Radio Frequency communications to maximize overall performance of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence systems that improve Information Warfare capability.
- You will provide authoritative technical advice to acquisition leadership that characterizes the mission, the operational environment, and the optimal communication capabilities that should and can be employed in any given warfighting scenario.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: Applicants will be assessed against Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs). MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Each must be addressed separately in your Supplemental Narrative Statement. Each MTQ must not exceed 2 pages.) 1. Demonstrated ability to provide the vision and technical leadership that shape the future landscape of maritime Radio Frequency communications and enable essential Information Warfare capabilities. 2. Demonstrated experience in conducting and leading innovative science and technology research in the field of Radio Frequency communications, specifically protected Satellite Communications (Extremely High Frequency), wideband Satellite Communications (Ka band, X band), and other commonly used military and commercial bands across the frequency spectrum. 3. Ability to serve as an authoritative spokesperson for the organization, both nationally and internationally, by establishing and maintaining productive collaborative relationships with key scientific, programmatic, and operational leadership and by leveraging subject matter technical expertise to resolve complex maritime communications issues. 4. Demonstrated proficiency in transitioning advanced and emerging communications technologies with applications that deliver enhanced or unprecedented Information Warfare capabilities to the Fleet. Pay Range
$156,119.00 - $197,300.00
