Job Summary

Salary will be based on the grade level for which you are selected and the duty location of the position.

Major Duties

At the GS-03 level, you will:

-Assist with basic aspects of field sampling or laboratory experiments;

-Receive training on proper function and maintenance of laboratory and/or scientific equipment;

-Assist in performance of other standarized support duties such as the collections of references and the organization of files;

-Perform other laboratory duties as required.

At the GS-04 level, you will:

-Perform routine laboratory testing and/or conduct aspects of field sampling;

-Receive training on proper function and maintenance of laboratory and/or scientific equipment;

-Assist in performance of other standarized support duties such as the collections of references and the organization of files;

-Perform other laboratory duties as required.

At the GS-05 level you will:

-Assist with data collection from field;

-Prepare and harvest cultures for experiments;

-Assist with laboratory sample processing and/or data collection;

-Support preparation of samples for analyses;

-Review literature for assessment and information gathering.

Qualifications

In addition to the eligibility requirements for the Pathways Internship Program, Pathways Interns qualify for an initial appointment based on their educational achievements as described below: To qualify for the GS-03 level, you need to have completed one full academic year of post-high school study.To qualify for the GS-04 level, you need to have completed two full academic years of post-high school study or an associate’s degree.To qualify for the GS-05 level, you need to have completed four academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range

$30,219.00 - $49,338.00
