Job Summary
This position will serve as Chief of the Information Technology Branch. The responsibilities include: supervising and managing a staff in developing, planning, and implementing biology health and biomedical informatics solutions to advance the discovery and development of new cancer therapeutics.
Major Duties
- Manage the activities of the Information Technology Branch, in support of database development and maintenance.
- Provide leadership, direction, scientific management, and oversight for biology and biomedical data informatics programs.
- Develop implementation plans, biology and biomedical informatics, including drafting solicitations.
- Provide supervision and direction to the subordinate staff, as well as oversee and direct the work of multiple contractors.
- Oversee the acquisition of information related to ongoing government and industry supported preclinical and translational informatics efforts.
- Oversee the gathering, interpreting, synthesizing, and analyzing of scientific data for inclusion in a variety of documents and reports that may be broadly disseminated both within, and outside, the organization.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for the 0401 series, you must meet the following Education Requirement: Education Requirement:
Have completed the requirements for a bachelor's (or graduate) degree in a biological science, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to this position, from an accredited college or university;
OR
Have a combination of experience and education which includes courses comparable to a major in a biological science, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to this position, AND have appropriate experience or additional education which demonstrates similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the duties of this position. In addition, you qualify at the GS-15 level, if you meet the following qualification requirement: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing leadership, direction, scientific management, and oversight for biology and biomedical informatics programs supporting preclinical, clinical, and translational research; managing staff in developing, planning, and implementing biology health and biomedical informatics solutions to advance the discovery and development of new cancer therapeutics; and facilitating the development of database, data analytics, computational and biology and biomedical informatics technologies in the cancer research and preclinical and translational communities. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.

Pay Range
$142,701.00 - $170,800.00
