Major Duties

  • Obtain resources and identify strategic objectives for the organization.
  • Organizationally structure functional responsibilities to assure effective, efficient, and economical use of staff; assists in strategic planning aligning Office's Strategic Plan with those of the Center, FDA, and HHS.
  • Review and evaluate project proposals and plans in terms of soundness of scientific/ technical/legal reasoning, sufficiency of project proposals, relative priorities, availability of resources and anticipated results.
  • Provide technical and regulatory leadership, through subordinate managers, to personnel engaged in executing FDA 's broad national regulatory programs and activities as required by statute or FDA published biology regulations.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: In order be eligible for the position of Supervisory Biologist (Division Director), (GS-0401-15), you must meet the following requirements. BASIC REQUIREMENT:

A. Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR

B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

You must possess one year (52-weeks) of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Implementing strategic planning; AND Identifying pathogenic and beneficial microbes; AND Initiating, planning, executing, and overseeing experimental projects; AND Supervising a staff of multidisciplinary scientists. Pay Range

$137,849.00 - $166,500.00
