Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Civil Engineer in the Capital Improvements Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND PAC.
Major Duties
- You will supervise technical staff for the execution of various Civil Engineering assignments.
- You will serve as a mentor and coach to subordinate civil engineers for Civil Engineering assignments.
- You will utilize knowledge of civil engineering, designs, new construction, renovation and improvement projects and/or conduct engineering studies.
- You will serve as a regional or command technical consultant to activities and installations concerning facilities planning, design, and construction.
- You will serve on various selection and evaluation boards for the procurement of professional services for the new construction, renovation, or improvements of real property facilities.
- You will participate in acquisition strategy with management and Acquisition Department.
- You will participate in technical review of Civil Engineering design calculations, analysis, drawings, and specifications.
- You will provide expert consultation, advice and/or conducts investigations for various Civil Engineering assignments.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0810 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Selective Placement Factor for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical expertise, and regional interface for design, design review, construction, and rehabilitation of a diverse range of projects within the Civil Engineering Program. 2) Supervising a technical staff comprised of civilians, and mentoring employees in specific tasks, job techniques and processes. 3) Monitoring civil engineering and technical performance and provides input into training plans. 4) Coordinating the civil engineering design with other organizational elements and technical disciplines to ensure integration of architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection building systems. 5) Serving on an independent technical review teams, and quality assurance (QA) teams. 6) Providing technical direction consistent with Navy policy to Field Engineering Commands and Architect-Engineer firms (AE). Pay Range
$94,071.00 - $122,296.00
