Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist in project development, design, construction, as-built development, and project training of individual and community water supply, wastewater disposal and solid waste disposal facilities. Plan work assignments, adjust priorities, adjust workloads, evaluate work performance, evaluate training needs and other supervisory functions.

Major Duties

  • Plans work assignments, adjusts priorities, adjusts workloads, evaluates work performance, evaluates training needs and other supervisory functions.
  • Performs engineering tasks required for the design of individual and community sanitation facilities including water supply and distribution, sewage collection and treatment and solid waste collection and disposal methods.
  • Collects and analyzes data on local water distribution systems, water storage facilities, sewage or waste treatment systems for design of new construction or improvements to existing facilities.
  • Performs duties concerned with the administration of sanitation facility construction, insuring that actual construction complies with designs and specifications and safety requirements.
  • Performs site visits to obtain information such as home locations, condition of systems, location of sewer mains, local water pressures, plumbing layouts, etc...

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. BASIC REQUIREMENT (s) and MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level. Specialized Experience: Experience in a wide range of professional environmental engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the full range of engineering duties concerned with the design and layout of domestic waste facilities, pumping stations, sewer systems, and water supply, distribution, and storage facilities. Capable of designing waste and sewage collection, treatment and disposal, water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution systems.

Pay Range

$62,236.00 - $80,912.00
