Major Duties
You will:
Plan, Organize and direct the activities of the organizational unit, ensuring that they meet the goals of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.
Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represent the agency with a variety of functional area organizations.
Serve as a technical advisor and assistant to the Second-Level supervisor on issues pertaining to the Great Lake Restoration initiative and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement particularly on the health of the Great Lake ecosystem.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
Qualifications
You need a degree or combination of education and experience as described below to qualify for this position.In addition to the educational requirements, we are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as experience in Great Lakes monitoring programs including: Great Lakes limnological principles; lower food web dynamic; fish contaminant monitoring programs; development of monitoring protocols in large aquatic ecosystems; water quality data evaluation; and sampling from Research Vessels. Position also requires experience interacting with federal and state agencies involved in Great Lakes monitoring activities. Position requires experience monitoring responsibilities under both the Great Lakes RestorationInitiative and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement.Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices.

Ability to advise on technical issues pertaining to the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Pay Range
$116,040.00 - $150,856.00
