Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Environmental Division, Environmental, Safety & Health Department of PSNS and IMF.

Major Duties

  • You will develop short and long-range plans for work to be accomplished.
  • You will establish priorities and assign blocks of work and projects to subordinate units based on priorities and selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments.
  • You will develop, implement and monitor all programs concerning: environmental compliance; clean air and emissions control programs; hazardous material/waste management programs; protection of natural resources, marine mammals/endangered species.
  • You will develop, implement and monitor all programs concerning: regulatory conditions of water discharge systems; environmental matters associated with community relations; and containment and disposal of major oil spills.
  • You will participate in joint coordination and planning sessions with other departments relative to environmental protection and engineering.
  • You will determine policy and objectives on critical and major issues of environmental regulation compliance.
  • You will review, analyze, coordinate or prepare comments on environmental impact statements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience planning, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of environmental (e.g. hazardous material/waste, air, water, historic, natural, cultural resources) protection programs in controlling pollutants and developing strategies for perpetuating compliance with local, state and federal environmental rules, regulations and laws. Pay Range

$118,099.00 - $153,527.00
