Job Summary

Serves as a Supervisory Geographer, senior advisor, thought leader, and steward of geospatial information programs, services sciences and technology within the Warfighter Support Directorate (WSD), U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC).

Major Duties

  • Supervise a team of employees working on the integration of complex geospatial data.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the directorate on the execution of technical mission and objectives.
  • Recommend procedures to optimize resources and ensure development of quality geospatial data.
  • Technical oversite of geospatial databases.
  • Develop new concepts to utilize with Amy Geospatial capabilities.
  • Assign work to subordinates and oversee work outcomes.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Geographer Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in geography; or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields. (you must upload your transcripts) OR Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in geography, or a related field that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Perform application development, data integration, and data prototyping, based on the application of principles and techniques from geographic information systems (GIS). Provide direction to team members on integration of complex geospatial data. Finding innovative ways to disseminate varied terrain analyses on an ever changing global network, using automated cartography, remote sensing extraction techniques and other relevant technologies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Pay Range

$117,191.00 - $152,352.00
