Job Summary

Serves as the Directorate Chief for the Warfighter Support and Production Directorate of the U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This is a permanent position.

Major Duties

  • Supervise employees through subordinate supervisors.
  • Provides geospatial engineering support to the Army?s generating and operating forces focused on fulfilling critical geospatial production gaps.
  • Provides technical reach-back, data collection, production, exploitation and dissemination of geospatial information tailored to the Army?s unique mission requirements and mission command systems.
  • Provide briefings, talking points for senior management and General Officers.
  • Provide leadership in the development of requirements for a robust modernization of the IT infrastructure for the Directorate
  • Oversee the operations of the missions of each Branch within the Directorate
  • Represent the agency for budget development and justifications.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory Geographer: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in geography; or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields. OR Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in geography, or a related field that included at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience which includes: Provide direction and guidance in the development and maintenance of a customer base; collection, dissemination and analysis of geospatial data supporting units in contact; production and provision of standard and specialized terrain analysis to support Directorate activities. Sets and evaluates the implementation of goals, objectives and short and mid-range work plans in order to identify those which need more emphasis. Ensures that technologies, such as GIS, web-based tools and applications (i.e. Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, and Global Positioning System (GPS)) are properly integrated with GIS products. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments and the capabilities of employees.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Pay Range

$142,701.00 - $170,800.00
