Job Summary

You will serve as a INSTALLATION ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM MANAGER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION of ENGRFLDACT, NW/RESOFCHARGECONST EFA. The position oversees the provision of environmental services for environmental compliance and planning; pollution prevention; natural and cultural resource management; hazardous waste management; and environmental restoration to fleet and shore customers for the respective installations.

Major Duties

  • You will coordinate actions with government and regulatory agencies, responsible parties, and contractors to meet the compliance requirements of environmental statutes and regulations.
  • You will maintain relationships with federal and state regulatory and enforcement agencies to discuss environmental restoration standards and remedial actions needed.
  • You will advise base and tenant commanders and managers on environmental compliance and pollution prevention and abatement within designated areas
  • You will develop procedures, environmental plans, instructions, and training into the activity's work processes to ensure environmental requirements and compliance.
  • You will develop plans to improve team capabilities and identify training needs to ensure team members have the tools to be productive.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor for the 0819, which is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0819 series. Your license must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Use knowledge of environmental concepts and policies to lead and/or coordinate the protection of the environment and natural resources; 2) Follow environmental laws, regulations and policy to ensure compliance of environmental programs (Hazardous Waste Management and Disposal, Solid Waste Management, Pollution Prevention, Drinking Water Quality, Wastewater Discharge Quality, Oily Waste/Waste Oil Management, Underground/Above ground Storage Tanks, etc.) , environmental planning, natural resources conservation, cultural resources management and environmental management systems; 3) Present reports/briefs to management on environmental issues; and 4) Assist with preparation of annual execution plans and budgetary submittals..**NOTE** This information must be clearly supported in your resume. Pay Range

$96,656.00 - $125,651.00
