Job Summary
You will serve as the Branch Head of the Integrated Electronic Warfare Simulation Branch in the Tactical Electronic Warfare Division of the NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY (NRL). This position may be filled by the following Professional Engineering series: NP-0801/0830/0850/0854/0855/0861 or the following Professional Scientific series: NP-1301/1310/1320/1515/1520/1550.
Major Duties
- You will be responsible for the overall development and resources required to identify vulnerabilities of foreign Radio Frequency (RF)-guided anti-ship missiles.
- You will plan, coordinate and review major research projects to investigate and analyze foreign anti-ship missile (ASM) seekers, leading to the development of effective countermeasures.
- You will lead a team of highly specialized and diverse engineers and technicians in the reverse engineering of classified military hardware to determine its characteristics and vulnerabilities.
- You will serve as an anti-ship missile expert who will provide technical guidance for developing missile models and Electronic Warfare (EW) techniques for use against various threat systems.
- You will represent NRL as the leading expert in exploited missile seekers.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/13 grade level or NP-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: Demonstrated experience in 1) Using knowledge of exploited missile systems to interpret and analyze unusual technologies which may be foreign to U.S. practices; 2) Developing surrogates of threat systems for use in the development of Electronic Warfare techniques and countermeasures systems; 3) Performing reverse engineering on exploited missile seekers to determine operational capabilities and vulnerabilities; 4) Coordinating with both internal and external sources to provide recommendations on countermeasures and to assist in the digital modeling of various missile systems; 5) Operating and supervising mechanical and electronic shop facilities for developing novel and original designs; and, 6) Supervising anechoic chamber facilities operations for assement testing. Pay Range
$115,324.00 - $166,500.00
