Job Summary

You will serve as a SUPVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY in the Environmental Department of NAV FAC ENG AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CTR. This position may be filled with any of the following series: BIOLOGICAL SCIENTIST (0401)/ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER (0819)/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST (1301)/GEOLOGIST (1350)/HYDROLOGIST (1315)

Major Duties

  • You will act as the Restoration Technology Transfer and Central Programs Branch Head within the Environmental Restoration Division.
  • You will manage and direct a branch of engineers, scientists, and specialists to provide technical expertise, consultation and technology development services to support installation restoration and munitions response programs.
  • You will execute projects and develop measures to improve performance for Naval activities, major claimants, facilities engineering commands, public works departments and Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) offices.
  • You will prepare and oversee technical requirements and business opportunities to support Navy/Marine Corps activities to conduct environmental cleanup.
  • You will provide support under the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) for facilities needing corrective action.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor for those applying to the Environmental Engineering series (0819)/ Geologist series (1350) and/or the Hydrologist series (1315) that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. GS-0819 selective placement factor: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. GS-1350 selective placement factor: You must currently be a licensed Professional Geologist (PG) in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. GS-1315 selective placement factor: You must currently be a licensed Professional Hydrologist (PH) in any state, District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. In addition to the basic requirements and selective placement factor (if applicable), your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing leadership for various environmental professional backgrounds to meet customer goals and objectives; 2) Managing resources to achieve assigned financial targets; and 3) Developing, negotiating, and executing annual workplan components to achieve customer satisfaction with environmental products and services. Pay Range

$100,820.00 - $131,064.00
