Job Summary

You will serve as a Installation Environmental Program Manager in the Environmental Division of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. This interdisciplinary position will be filled as either an Environmental Engineer (0819) or Physical Scientist (1301) or Biologist (0401). Professional registration is required for environmental engineers. Salary: Seal Beach, CA GS- 13: $104,182 TO $135,440 El Centro, CA GS-13: $91,231 TO $118,603

Major Duties

  • You will advise base and tenant commanders and managers on environmental compliance and pollution prevention and abatement within designated areas.
  • You will evaluate work performance of staff to identify the training needs of the employees.
  • You will implement natural and cultural resources conservation programs to achieve regulatory objectives.
  • You will develop training to promote knowledge of internal environmental programs that support operations and mission objectives.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates for the Environmental Engineering series (0819). The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) if applying for the 0819 series. Your license must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:: 1) Overseeing the environmental compliance and conservation program for an organization; 2) Reviewing military construction projects and operational/training programs to ensure regulatory compliance; and 3) Managing environmental programs by planning, scheduling, budgeting and coordinating cost effective solutions. NOTE: This experience must be fully and clearly supported in your resume.

Pay Range

$91,231.00 - $135,440.00
