Job Summary
Position is located in Clewiston, FL.
Major Duties
- Prepares planning documents to include but not limited to the Operational Management Plan (OMP), Master, Project Safety , fire Prevention , Physical Security , Shoreline Management , Drought Management and Emergency Operations and Maintenance.
- Develops and administers various service contracts and assists with oversight of contracts such as, mowing, refuse collection, facility clean up, park attendants and custodians, janitorial, vegetative management and law enforcement contracts.
- Oversees the conservation, preservation and use of the project natural and recreational resources.
- Promotes water safety and the protection of threatened and endangered species.
- Reviews requests and oversees shoreline management program for shoreline permits for private floating recreation facilities and vegetative modifications.
- Plans and oversees construction and rehabilitation of campsites, picnic sites, roads and associated structures in park areas.
- Responsible for budget estimates related to interpretive activities, information and audiovisual installations.
- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate biologist and park rangers.
- Construct projects for endangered and threatened species, forest, fish and wildlife, and aquatic plant management programs.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Organizing work, setting priorities and determining resource requirements; Developing and administering service contracts for mowing, refuse collection, facility clean-up, park attendants, vegetative management and law enforcement contracts; measuring impacts of public use on various resources, land and aquatic resources; and the protection of threatened and endangered species. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Pay Range
$76,721.00 - $99,741.00
