Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Physical Scientist (Environmental) in the Environmental Compliance Section, Environmental Affairs Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER.
Major Duties
- You will establish, implement and maintain a comprehensive program of environmental compliance for both the base and air station.
- You will provide qualified professional environmental supervision to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
- You must have a professional understanding of environmental science (geology, biology, environmental engineering) to successfully meet the needs of the section
- You will ensure each camps environmental coordinator has a program in place for continual environmental compliance evaluations and a total annual self audit.
- You will provide technical guidance to the environmental training section and ensure classes are offered and training requirements are met.
- You will coordinate closely with the Pollution Prevention, Conservation and Science/Engineering Section, and should be familiar with environmental engineering practices and biological preservation.
Qualifications
In addition to the basic requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector establishing, planning,and maintaining a comprehensive program for a wide variety of environmental media (e.g., air, water, solid waste, PCBs, Biological Studies, Hazardous Materials) to achieve environmental compliance and minimize health risks and damage to the environment. Pay Range
$78,681.00 - $102,288.00
