Job Summary
The Incumbent will serve as the Latent Print Supervisor, Forensic Exploitation Branch (FXB), Forensic Exploitation Directorate (FXD), Defense Forensic Science Center (DFSC), U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (USACIDC), an organization providing forensic laboratory services to the Army and Department of Defense (DoD) in support of conducting and controlling criminal investigations.
Major Duties
- Manages and supervises the activities of the Forensic Latent Print Branch through subordinate supervisors, in the day to day planning, management, coordination and direction of a staff of senior forensic physical scientists
- Adapts established/develops new guides, methods and techniques. Applies new developments and theories and extends and modifies approaches, precedents, and methods to solve a variety of unprecedented and/or obscure chemical problems.
- Evaluates scientific results which may appear to be conflicting or incomplete, and determines the validity and whether findings are forensically significant.
- Serves as an authoritative court witness responsible for presenting independent, objective opinion testimony on complex technical issues in terms that are understandable to the layman.
- Ensures, implements, and conducts technical training and/or retraining for Latent Print Branch employees as well as facilitating training for other employees and law enforcement officials upon request.
- Develops quality assurance mechanisms and systems including proficiency testing programs.
- Maintains and provides applicable statistical data Schedules statements of work requirements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Pay Range
$113,581.00 - $147,652.00
