Job Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Environmental Engineer in the Environmental Restoration (EV4), Environmental Business Line of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII. Recruitment or Relocation incentives as described in 5 USC 5753 may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.
Major Duties
- You will coordinate short-term and long-term strategic environmental planning.
- You will establish program policies and requirements for environmental program operations.
- You will mentor junior environmental engineers to support objectives for the professional development of field office staff.
- You will train personnel on environmental standards to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- You will manage the development of command policy in response to changes in environmental laws and regulations.
- You will manage long term planning in installation restoration and environmental compliance programs.
- You will advise environmental personnel and government officials on procedures in cleaning up contaminated sites to protect the public and the environment.
- You will respond to hazardous waste spills on shore to initiate the cleanup process ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Serving as a professional Supervisory Environmental Engineer performing duties pertaining to environmental restoration support for activities within the Command; 2) Represents in public meetings, and in negotiation with United States Environmental Protection Agency; 3) Plan work to be performed by subordinates, set priorities, establish schedules for assignments, provide guidance and assistance, and review reports, correspondence and work products prepared by subordinates for acceptability; 4) Prepare performance ratings, identify training needs, and initiate action for training as required; 5) Promote and further the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program assuring equal treatment of all subordinates in all areas. Pay Range
$94,071.00 - $122,296.00
