Founded in 1969, Arizona Forward, a nonprofit organization that advocates for balance between economic development and environmental quality in the state, is accepting grant applications from Arizona K-12 grade teachers to support environmental projects in their classroom, school, or community. With support from the Helios Education Foundation, up to $5,000 in Earthfest Education Grants will be awarded for projects that are environmental in nature and focus on energy, water, air quality, transportation, land planning, plants and animals, and/or waste management. To be considered, projects must enhance student awareness of and interest in environmental sustainability. One or more grants will be awarded at the discretion of the Arizona Forward's Environmental Education Committee.
