Spencer Foundation

These grants support education research projects with budgets of $50,000 or less. Proposed projects should improve education generally and sometimes fall within these specified areas of inquiry: education and social opportunity; organizational learning; purposes and values of education; teaching, learning, and instructional resources; and the new civics. Most proposals, however, support the foundation's general mission but not one of the specified inquiry areas; proposals in this category are called "field-initiated." To be eligible for these grants, the principle investigator (PI) and co-PIs must have a doctorate degree or equivalent in an education research-related profession.
