The Washington Division of Geology and Earth Resources' interactive map of Washington provides a huge variety of information on the state's geology and natural resources, including:

  • Hazards - tsunami hazard areas, volcanoes, earthquakes, landslides, radon hazards, and likely ground responses to earthquakes
  • Surface geology on a range of scales
  • Mineral resources, including metals, non-metallic minerals, and coal
  • Geothermal data
  • Permit locations for surface mines and oil and gas wells
  • Topography and bathymetry
  • Geotechnical and lithologic borings, water wells, and test pits
  • Street maps and aerial images, including LiDAR for much of the state.

The map allows users to select multiple layers that can be overlain on each other. By doing this, users can see how different features are related, such as the relationship between hazards and the underlying geology.
