DOI - The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) announced public meetings in preparation for their upcoming release of the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP), which will provide high-quality topographic data for three-dimensional representations of natural and constructed features. Virtual meeting webinars will be held April 24, 2015 and July 23 and 28, 2015. Public workshops will be held throughout the U.S. between May 4 and June 26, 2015. DOI - The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) proposed new rules for oil, gas, and sulphur outer continental shelf operations, which would incorporate industry standards while revising existing regulations with regard to blowout preventers, provide reform for well design, control, casing, cementing, subsea containment, and real-time monitoring with the goal of consolidating equipment and operational requirements, as well as processes for completions, workovers, and decommissioning. DOI - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) gave advanced notice for a new proposed rule for onshore oil and gas leasing to update royalty rates, annual rental payments, minimum acceptable bids, bonding requirements, and civil penalty assessments.
