NOAA - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Science Advisory Board will meet at 4:00pm EDT on Thursday, January 28, 2016. The meeting will consider the following topics: 1) Report from the Environmental Information Services Working Group on a Review of the NOAA Partnership Policy; 2) Discussion of Ways to Optimize SAB and Working Group Operations; 3) Continued Discussion of Strategic Advice to NOAA. NOAA - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Ocean Service (NOS) will hold three town hall-style webinars to promote discussion between federal representatives and stakeholders on topics related to harmful algal blooms and hypoxia occurring in the Great Lakes region. EPA - The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA), Environmental Laboratory Advisory Board (ELAB) will hold teleconference meetings at 1:00 PM EDT on February 17, March 16, April 20, May 18, June 15, July 20, September 21, October 19, November 16, and December 21. The ELAB meetings will discuss 1) issues with continuing the expansion of national environmental accreditation; 2) ELAB’s support to the EPA on issues relating to measuring and monitoring programs; and 3) follow-up on past recommendations and issues. NOAA - The U.S. Coral Reef Task Force (USCRTF) of The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), will hold a public meeting on February 18 and workshops on February 16, 17, and 19. DOE - The State Energy Advisory Board (STEAB) of the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, will hold an open public teleconference on February 18 at 3:30 PM EDT. The meeting purpose is to receive STEAB action items and objects for FY 2016, and discuss the task force work moving forward. [Thursday, January 14, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 9)]

NRC - The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) subcommittee on Research and Test Reactors will hold an open public meeting on February 3 at 8:30 AM EDT to review the Research and Test Reactor (RTR) License Renewal Process Rulemaking. DOE - The Basic Energy Science Advisory Committee (BESAC) of the Department of Energy (DOE) will hold an open public meetings on February 11 and 12 to discuss the budgets for the Office of Science and Office of Basic Energy Sciences. [Thursday, January 15, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 10)]

NRC - The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will hold an open public meeting on February 25 to discuss fuel facilities and the nuclear material users business lines. [Thursday, January 15, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 10)]

EPA - The Good Neighbor Environmental Advisory Board of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a public meeting on February 10 and 11 to discuss to board’s annual report, with a focus on climate change resiliency at the U.S.-Mexico border region. NSF - The Astronomy and Astrophysics Advisory Committee of the National Science Foundation (NSF) will hold a meeting on February 25 to provide recommendations to the NSF, NASA, and the Department of Energy (DOE) on issues concerning astronomy and astrophysics that are of mutual interest and concern to the agencies. [Wednesday, January 20, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 12)]

USGS - The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has reopened the nomination period for state government members of the Advisory Committee on Climate Change and Natural Resource Science. Nominations must now be received by February 22.  [Thursday, January 21, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 13)]

USDA - The Forest Resource Coordinating Committee of the Forest Service and Department of Agriculture (USDA), will hold a teleconference on February 17 to discuss university landowner outreach efforts, work group report outs on outreach efforts, and develop future meeting topics. DOE - The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a final rule that amends the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975 (EPCA), to create provisions designed to improve energy efficiency, including conservation standards for pumps. [Tuesday, January 26, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 16)]

EPA - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is extending the comment period for information related to hazardous air pollutant emissions from sources in the production, transmission, and storage segments of the oil and natural gas sector. EPA - The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a public meeting on March 7 and 8 to review proposed methodology for updating mortality risk valuation estimates for policy analysis. [Tuesday, January 26, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 16)]

EPA - The Board of Scientific Counselors (BOSC) Executive Committee of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a public teleconference on February 8. The meeting will focus on the report addressing the research and future direction of the Office of Research and Development’s (ORD) National Research Programs. NASA - The Planetary Science Subcommittee of the NASA Advisory Council (NAC) will hold meetings on March 9 and 10 to gather information relevant to program planning from the scientific community. [Tuesday, January 26, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 16)]

NSF - The Committee on Equal Opportunities in Science and Engineering (CEOSE) of the National Science Foundation (NSF) will hold open meetings on February 25 and 26. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss data, programs, policies, and other information pertinent to the NSF and to provide recommendations concerning broadening participation in science and engineering. NASA - The NASA Ad Hoc Task Force on Big Data will hold an open meeting on February 16. This task force reports to the NASA Advisory Council’s Science Committee, and the purpose of the meeting is to discuss scientific and technical information relevant to big data. NOAA - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has released their final Commercial Space Policy. This policy sets a broad framework for use of commercial space-based approaches by the agency to meet its observational requirements. [Wednesday, January 27, 2016 (Volume 81, Number 17)]

EPA - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of the final National Coastal Condition Assessment (NCCA) 2010. The NCCA describes the results of a nationwide coastal survey that was conducted in 2010 by the EPA that includes estimates of coastal area with good, fair, and poor biological quality, water quality, sediment quality, and ecological fish tissue quality. EPA -  The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing revisions to the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP), specifically to add new monitoring methods for detecting leaks from oil and gas equipment in the petroleum and natural gas industry.
