Earth Science Week 2023 Contests Eye Innovation in Geoscience

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Time to get creative! For Earth Science Week (October 8-14, 2023), the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is sponsoring four contests focusing on the theme of this year's celebration, "Geoscience Innovating for Earth and People." The 2023 competitions will feature video, photography, visual arts, and essay contests:

Earth Science Week AAPG Student Chapters Video Contest Winner Announced

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) congratulates the University of Indonesia's American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Student Chapter as the winner of the Earth Science Week AAPG Student Chapters of the Asia Pacific Region Video Contest. The contest was developed as an extension of Earth Science Week 2021, which celebrated the theme of "Water Today and for the Future."

AGI 'Game Changer' Contest Invites You to Tell Your AGI Story

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) invites you to tell the story of how AGI made a difference for you ― in your studies, in your career, or in your life generally. You could win a $100 prize and more in AGI's new Game Changer Contest, just for sharing a brief anecdote of up to 100 words about how AGI has been a “game changer” for you.

Enter the SSSA Photo Contest by September 15! #soil

The Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) is hosting its annual photo contest in conjunction with their Annual Meeting this October in Tampa, Florida. Entrants are encouraged to submit photos under the theme of "Soils Sustain Life." First Place will receive $250; Second Place $100; and Third Place: $50.

The Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) is hosting their first ever photo contest to celebrate the exciting research done by limnologists and oceanographers everywhere. Winners will receive a one-year membership to ASLO and have their work featured on the ASLO website. Submit entries by June 1, 2017.
