What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? Consider NSS' Bat Ball! #caves

The National Speleological Society is hosting their second Bat Ball to ring in 2018. If you're in Huntsville, Alabama consider hanging out with some cavers and celebrate the New Year with dinner, dancing and a champagne toast! Caver-made craft libations will featured to keep the party going. In addition to the Bat Ball, guests are encouraged to camp for the long weekend and take in the sights, both above- and below-ground.

The Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) is hosting its annual photo contest in conjunction with their Annual Meeting this October in Tampa, Florida. Entrants are encouraged to submit photos under the theme of "Soils Sustain Life." First Place will receive $250; Second Place $100; and Third Place: $50. 

AGU Scientist Shares Her Proactive Approach to #Science #Policy

In March 2017 American Geophysical Union (AGU) member and climate scientist, Dr. Susan Kaspari participated in Climate Science Day at the U.S. Capitol. The changing policies surrounding the 2016 Presidential Election motivated her to engage more in science policy. As part of that day she met with her Congressman, Rep. Dave Reichert.
