The Executive Committee of the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is proud to announce that Dr. Peter Scholle has been awarded the AGI Medal in memory of Ian Campbell honoring his contributions to the geoscientific community.

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is proud to announce that Dr. Gordon E. Brown, Jr. is the 2012 recipient of the Ian Campbell Medal for Superlative Service to the Geosciences. Dr. Brown, the Dorrell William Kirby Professor of Earth Sciences and Professor of Photon Science at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, is recognized for his contributions as a scientist, educator, administrator, and public servant. He will receive this prestigious award at the Geological Society of America (GSA) Awards Ceremony at the GSA Annual Meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina on November 5, 2012.

Harrison H. Schmitt has been named the 30th recipient of the Medal in honor of Ian Campbell for Superlative Service to the Geosciences. Schmitt will be presented this prestigious award at the Geological Society of America Presidential Address Ceremony in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on October 9, 2011.

Vicki J. Cowart has been named the 29th recipient of the Medal in honor of Ian Campbell for Superlative Service to the Geosciences. Cowart will be presented this prestigious award at the Geological Society of America Presidential Address Ceremony in Denver, Colorado on October 30, 2010.

Jonathan G. Price has been named the 28th recipient of the Medal in honor of Ian Campbell for Superlative Service to the Geosciences. Price will be presented this prestigious award at the Geological Society of America Presidential Address Ceremony in Portland, Oregon on October 17, 2009.

Larry D. Woodfork has been named the recipient of the 2008 Medal in honor of Ian Campbell. Woodfork will be presented this prestigious award at the Geological Society of America (GSA) Presidential Address Ceremony in Houston, Texas on October 4, 2008.

Dr. Arthur A. Socolow has been named the recipient of the 2007 Medal in honor of Ian Campbell. Socolow will be presented this prestigious award at the Geological Society of America (GSA) Presidential Address Ceremony in Denver, Colorado on October 27, 2007.

The AGI Medal in Memory of Ian Campbell for 2006 will be awarded to Dr. Robert D. Hatcher, Jr. in recognition of his contributions to the profession of geology. Hatcher will be presented this prestigious award at the Geological Society of America (GSA) Presidential Address Ceremony in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 21, 2006.
