Initiative Supporting Newcomers to Earth Science Teaching Accepting Applications

ALEXANDRIA, VA. — At a time when knowledge of the Earth is increasingly important, the American Geosciences Institute (AGI), in collaboration with ExxonMobil, is excited to announce the opening of applications for the 2024 Geoscience and STEM Teaching and Learning Academy (TLA). This program is specifically designed to support K-8 educators who are new to teaching earth sciences and are seeking to enhance their teaching skills and knowledge in this vital field.
 

Professional Development Opportunities Portal Launches for Earth Science Teachers

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Teachers of Earth and space science topics have an effective way to find professional development opportunities, thanks to a new website launched this month.

The website provides information on available opportunities in Earth and space science education professional development offered by a wide range of regional and national organizations. The available opportunities offer support across many aspects of instruction, such as implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards in Earth and Space Science (NGSS-ESS).
