Abby Seadler Wulf Joins AGI’s Board of Directors

October 6, 2026

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) welcomes Abby Seadler Wulf to its Board of Directors as a Member-at-Large for 2026–29. An AGI alum, Wulf returns after a career spent securing critical mineral supply chains and making the case for why geoscience matters to society.

Abby Seadler Wulf

Bringing minerals, energy, and security expertise to AGI’s Board

Wulf has spent much of her career working at the intersection of geoscience and public policy. Most recently, her work focused on the minerals needed for energy technologies, manufacturing, and national security. She is founder and CEO of Lattice Strategies, a Washington, D.C.-based critical minerals policy consultancy. She previously led critical minerals work at the U.S. Department of Energy and headed the Biden-era American Battery Materials Initiative, the White House-led interagency effort to strengthen domestic mineral production and processing. Prior to this, she founded and led the Center for Critical Minerals Strategy at SAFE.

For Wulf, joining the AGI Board of Directors is a homecoming. Wulf began her career at AGI in policy and communications roles highlighting AGI’s Member Societies and leading Geosciences Congressional Visits Days. She went on to NASA’s Earth Science Division, where she continued communicating the value of data driven research.

Abby’s career is an example of how geoscience expertise reaches beyond research and fieldwork. Decisions about technology, energy, infrastructure, trade, resilience, and security increasingly depend on an understanding of Earth systems and materials. Abby brings that perspective to our Board at a time when critical minerals have become a prominent public policy issue.”
— AGI Interim Executive Director Christopher Keane
“AGI shaped the way I think about the value of geoscience to society. It is a thrill to be back at an organization so grounded in the science and so central to the Earth science community at a time when so many issues on peoples’ minds come down to geoscience—from access to oil, to diversifying critical mineral supply chains, to responding to a changing climate.”

Wulf holds an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Geoscience and Government from Hamilton College.

Wulf joins AGI’s Board as a Member-at-Large alongside Board Liaison Stella Kafka. Bradley Cramer becomes President-Elect, and Doug Bartlett takes office as President. New and outgoing Board members will be recognized during the Friends of AGI Reception on October 11 at GSA Connects 2026.
