AGI Launches Next Generation of Geoscience Online Learning Initiative
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to announce the launch of its next-generation platform for the Geoscience Online Learning Initiative (GOLI). The new platform provides enhanced features for content discovery, allowing students and other geoscience professionals to easily identify new courses across the entire GOLI catalog.
Highlighting Flexible Learning Opportunities
GOLI currently hosts dozens of vetted on-demand courses to support individualized and professional continuing education in a format that provides learners with the flexibility to actively self-pace their learning. These courses are accepted for a wide range of certifications and licenses.
A Collaborative Effort
GOLI is a joint effort by AGI, the American Institute of Professional Geologists, the Society for Sedimentary Geology, and National Association of State Boards of Geology to provide a platform for asynchronous, lifelong and continuing education opportunities in the geosciences.
Expanding the Platform
“Our GOLI objective is to foster an ever-expanding platform through which geoscience societies can host on-demand learning modules to help students be better prepared to enter the geoscience workforce,” said AGI Executive Director Jonathan Arthur. “Our hope is that more AGI Member Societies will join us in this growing and transparent marketplace that offers CEUs and micro-credentials within geoscience disciplines that are transferable across the entire geoscience profession.”
