AGI Welcomes 2018 Executive Committee

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) welcomes three new members to the AGI Executive Committee and congratulates Dr. Eve S. Sprunt as she takes office as AGI President. The new and departing members of the Executive Committee were recognized at the Friends of AGI Reception on October 23, 2017, in Seattle.

AGI welcomed the following new members to the Executive Committee:

  • Dr. Rodney C. Ewing (Stanford University) - President Elect
  • Ms. Heidi L. Hoffower (Chevron) - Treasurer

AGI’s 2017-18 President, Dr. Eve S. Sprunt (Eve Sprunt & Associates), comes to AGI with a 35-year career in the petroleum industry, with the first 15 years in research followed by 6 years in new business development then 14 years in management. Her book, “A Guide for Dual-Career Couples: Rewriting the Rules,” was published in 2016. She has a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Stanford University, S.B. and S.M. from MIT, and is a former President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and former First Vice President of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.

Dr. Jean M. Bahr (University of Wisconsin-Madison) will continue to serve on the Executive Committee.

  • Ms. Charlene Sundermann (Ecolab) - Treasurer
