The American Geosciences Institute Releases the 2016 Directory of Geoscience Departments

Alexandria, VA - The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to announce the 515th edition of The Directory of Geoscience Departments.

The Directory of Geoscience Departments is the premier guide to geoscience organizations worldwide and a vital resource for thousands of scientists, policymakers, publishers, students, and the general public to find various geoscience programs and connect with colleagues. The 515th Edition provides listings of nearly 2,000 university departments, museums, federal agencies, geological surveys, and research institutes. Contact information is provided as well as details on enrollments, faculty specialties, and the date and source of faculty and staff’s highest degree.

For the 515th edition, departments were able to provide social media contacts and indicate whether they host a field camp. The field camp listings are categorized as either open enrollment to students outside the department or department only enrollment. Additionally, there are two different faculty indexes that sort the department faculty by their specialization and alphabetically. AGI continues to include listings of U.S. and Canadian student theses and dissertations; this year presents those written in 2013 that have been reported to GeoRef Information Services. This edition also features a cleaner, more up-to-date listing of the international geoscience departments.

The new hardcopy edition is $39.95 ($32 for AGI member society members) and is currently available:
