Geoscience COVID-19 Study Website Explores Pandemic's Impacts

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) unveils the new Geoscience COVID-19 Impacts Study website, supported by the National Science Foundation (Award #2029570). The project website provides a wealth of data briefs, presentations, and an archive of oral histories from the project.

Examining the Impact on the Geoscience Workforce and Academic Programs

Over the past three years, the project has examined the nature and extent of the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the geoscience workforce and academic programs, from early effects to more permanent changes in the workforce and academia. The project’s oral histories and webinars offer in-depth looks at the strategies used by employers, academic departments, faculty, recent graduates, and post-doctoral fellows to overcome pandemic-related impacts on their work, research, and learning.

Funding for this project is provided by the National Science Foundation (Award #2029570). The results and interpretation of the survey are the views of AGI and not those of the National Science Foundation.
