The American Geosciences Institute Announces the Relaunching of its GeoSpectrum Newsletter as the Geotimes Blog
Alexandria, VA - The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to announce the relaunching of its GeoSpectrum newsletter as the Geotimes Blog. GeoSpectrum has evolved from a quarterly newsletter of the geoscience societies to a blog about activities in AGI’s member societies and other news and events about the geosciences.
For decades, AGI’s Geotimes magazine not only published features about geoscience but was also the major source of information about the activities within the profession, including news from AGI’s Member Societies, information about new books, maps and datasets, and insights into the interface of geoscience and policy. As the magazine evolved into today’s EARTH magazine, this inside information was then published through AGI’s GeoSpectrum newsletter. But just as the magazine evolved, so is our delivery of the news of the profession to an ongoing news blog by and for the geoscience profession, and we are bringing back the trusted name for the new voice of the profession, Geotimes.
The Geotimes Blog covers:
- Society news and events
- Stories from the geoscience-policy interface
- Geoscience workforce news
- Geoscience education and outreach events hosted by our organizations
- Award announcements
- Scholarship, fellowship and internship announcements
- Celebrations and passages.
Additionally, we will announce new datasets, maps and books. Tagging will allow you to easily sort stories by theme. The Geotimes Blog is also available as an RSS feed.
We look forward to sharing the amazing work of our Member Societies and the geoscience community with you. To get up-to-date information about the geoscience community, go to www.americangeosciences.org/geotimes or subscribe to the RSS feed at www.americangeosciences.org/geotimes/rss.
