The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is seeking quality candidates for its 2027 officer positions and 2026 awards. Your nominations should be received by February 15, 2026, to be reviewed by the AGI Nominating Committee and other award committees. Letters of support for award nominations may be sent for each nominee and, if provided, will be included in the package sent to the 2026 Nominating Committee. For AGI Board of Director positions, Member Society members can self-nominate or be nominated. Read more about the board positions here.

Specifically AGI is seeking nominations for the following:

President-Elect

AGI Board of Directors President-Elect. A three-year term progressing from President-elect to President and then Past-President

Member-at-Large

AGI Board of Directors Member-at-Large. A three-year term on the AGI Board representing the interests of the geoscience community

Secretary

AGI Board of Directors Secretary. A two-year term on the AGI Board responsible for meeting records and procedures

Legendary Geoscientist Medal

Marcus Milling Legendary Geoscientist Medal

Ian Campbell Medal

Medal in Memory of Ian Campbell for Superlative Service to the Geosciences

Public Understanding Award

Outstanding Contribution to the Public Understanding of the Geosciences
