AGI Offers Free Training in Geoscience Communications for Limited Time

Marcia Train and Mark Goldner have been named the 2023 recipients of the American Geosciences Institute’s (AGI) Edward C. Roy Jr. Award for Excellence in K-8 Earth Science Teaching. ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) has named Marcia Train and Mark Goldner as the 2023 recipients of the Edward C. Roy Jr. Award for Excellence in K-8 Earth Science Teaching. Geoscience COVID-19 Study Website Explores Pandemic's Impacts

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) unveils the new Geoscience COVID-19 Impacts Study website, supported by the National Science Foundation (Award #2029570). The project website provides a wealth of data briefs, presentations, and an archive of oral histories from the project. Examining the Impact on the Geoscience Workforce and Academic Programs Over the past three years, the project has examined the nature and extent of the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the geoscience workforce and academic programs, from early effects to more permanent changes in the workforce and academia. AGI Hosts New IRIS Online Course on Careers in Geophysics

Sharon Mosher of University of Texas at Austin Recognized for Service to AGI

Alexandria, Va. — The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is pleased to recognize Dr. Sharon Mosher, Dean Emeritus in the Department of Geological Sciences at the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Austin (UT), as the 2022 recipient of the William B. Heroy Jr. Award for Distinguished Service to AGI. This award is given in recognition of exceptional and beneficial long-term service to the Institute.
