Department of the Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) announced the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) 2017-2022 leasing plan today in a press release, which includes land in Alaska. Based on public input and data analysis BOEM did not include the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas. The proposed sales include 70% of economically recoverable resources and the release includes an outline of the strategy for the following regions: the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, the Atlantic and the Pacific.
