Job Summary
This is a Biologist, GS-0401-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District, Regional Planning and Environmental Center (RPEC). This is a permanent and full-time position and may be filled in any of the following duty locations: Fort Worth, TX; Galveston, TX; Little Rock, AR; or Tulsa, OK. The location chosen for this position is at the discretion of management and will be determined at the time of selection.
Major Duties
- Perform complex ecological analyses of multiple large and complex projects.
- Accomplish work associated with environmental studies related to Corps of Engineers Civil Works and Military programs.
- Conducts extensive field reconnaissance of areas for developing environmental studies and formulating plans for various projects.
- Participate in intra-agency, private, and public interest meetings concerning many aspects of technical specialty as they relate to environmental considerations.
- Lead discussions of technical problems in related scientific fields with colleagues and representatives for other agencies and organizations.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) conducting investigations/studies for ecological characteristics of civil works water resources projects or military natural resources; AND 2) preparing technical documents for environmental investigations/studies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Pay Range
$76,721.00 - $114,683.00
