Job Summary
Perform senior level scientific work involving studies of the functions, environmental response, biological activities and/or processes of humans and animals and their component parts.
Major Duties
- Provide expert scientific advice, consultation and leadership in designing, coordinating and maintaining scientific project goals, objectives and priorities.
- Design, oversee, and implement biological scientific surveys/studies or projects to identify and solve problems.
- Apply new methods, approaches, and technology to new and unusual situations and these methods have broad applications in the field.
- Collaborate with and provide scientific advice to all organizational levels within the agency, as well as with various state health agencies, and partner organizations, both nationally and internationally.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include designing, overseeing, implementing, and conducts biological scientific surveys/studies or projects to identify and solve problems.
Pay Range
$88,704.00 - $125,910.00
