Job Summary

This position serve as a Biologist performing specified portions of scientific work involving studies of the functions, environmental response, biological activities, and/or processes of humans and animals, and their component parts.

Major Duties

  • Perform biological science work or support work in various scientific and public health areas associated with numerous biological agents.
  • Identify methods and procedures to collect data, and conducts experiments and studies, making adjustments in methods and procedures.
  • Calibrate and operate laboratory instruments that are necessary to independently perform test, and analyses and other procedures.
  • Prepare and delivers written and oral reports to a variety of individuals and groups in both informal and formal settings.
  • Prepare a wide variety of charts, graphs, manuscripts, and spreadsheets.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

A degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in performing biological scientific studies, environmental responses and biological activities.

Pay Range

$76,721.00 - $109,358.00
