Major Duties
- As a Biologist in the Office of the Center Director (OCD), Quality Management Staff, you will: Serve as a specialist in the area of biology in quality management.
- Provide technical input, analysis, guidance and determination to support the development, implementation, monitoring and auditing of CDRH quality management and operational excellence efforts and biological quality data needs of CDRH mission.
- Conduct studies in the area of biology to critique, design and improve quality management planning and performance systems, surveys, and decision models in CDRH programs to improve the efficiency and effectivene
- Coordinate, monitor and maintain liaison between various organizations involved in supporting the project for numerous process improvement teams of complex quality management issues.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
In order be eligible for the position of Biologist (Quality Management), (GS-0401-11/12/13), you must meet the following requirements... A. Have a degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. - OR -B. Have a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (You must submit your transcript(s) that demonstrates this coursework at time of application submission). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
You must possess one year (52-weeks) of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the Federal service. Such experience includes: 1)Providing biological and analytical expertise in consulting on a wide variety of scientific, continual improvement and quality management issues and matters. 2).Applying approaches in the area of biology to accomplish evaluation, improvement or resolution of scientific and quality management issues/processes. -OR- Have 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D equivalent doctoral degree. GS-12: Applicants must possess one year (52-weeks) of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the Federal service that may include but is not limited to: 1).Advising on scientific and quality standards to address scientific and quality issues and processes. 2).Collaborating with other scientists, engineers, healthcare professionals within an organization/agency on a wide range of scientific issues as they relate to the management, execution, and/or improvement of scientific and quality management processes and activities. 3).Recommending and enhancements and participating in the execution of improvement programs related to scientific and quality management , processes and activities. GS-13: Applicants must possess one year (52-weeks) of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service that may include but is not limited to: 1).Planning, developing and administering scientific, regulatory, strategic, organizational improvement and quality management programs. 2).Evaluating and improving processes and procedures associated with scientific and regulatory policies, strategies and organizational activities using scientific, quality management and organizational excellence methods and tools.3).Developing and using business process improvement approaches to improve scientific, regulatory, business and quality management processes of an organization. Pay Range
$72,030.00 - $133,465.00
